Teaming To Win

I spent the last two days at the teaming to win conference.  I met a lot of great people.  I did free blood pressure and peripheral arterial disease( abi) screenings at the event.  Being able to provide that service and give people peace of mind was awesome.  The conference was a huge success and I made several contacts.  All in all time an energy well spent.   Thanks to all who attended and took advantage of the screenings.  Have a great summer.

Summer 2012 Health Screenings

Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

 

Since this weekend is the official start of summer I encourage everyone to take time out to have the PRC Ultrasound Health Screenings which include gallbladder, aorta, carotid and peripheral arterial disease(abi).   We all lead busy lives so peace of mind is priceless when it comes to knowing that we got a great report card from PRC.  Just taking an hour out of your day to have the screenings done can make a start to a great summer.  Time and money well spent.  Give us a call to get scheduled.  Have a safe and happy summer of 2012.

A request for our clients

Please do not bring small children to your appointment unless someone other than yourself will be available and responsible for supervising them. We ask this as a courtesy to our other clients, staff, and to assure your session will be as enjoyable and productive as possible. Our Ultrasound Technologist cannot perform a proper scan if you are caring for small children. A television with cartoon channels is available next to the ultrasound room.

Family Affair

I recently had the pleasure of scanning two very friendly pregnant sisters that came in for 3D/4D packages. They were accompanied by their very happy mother and a third sister who was currently also pregnant (8 weeks). During the scans and conversation it was brought to my attention that another sister was expecting her 6^th child. So this is the story as told by the mother of the 5 girls…

She has 5 daughters. Three that are due to give birth in July 2012: the 10^th, 17^th and 28^th.  Another daughter is getting married July 7^th (Same day as my daughter) and there is no current news on the 5^th daughter. 

She will have 12 grandchildren by the 12^th month in the 12^th year.  Now this is a story that could be a made for television movie!

This week’s blog is short and sweet.  Just taking time out to wish all of my wonderful clients a very happy and blessed Mother’s Day.  In addition, I do not want to forget the grandmothers and great-grandmothers who also attend the scan sessions.  I am very fortunate to have the job I do.  I appreciate everyone. 3D/4D Timing

Just a friendly reminder concerning 3D/4D Ultrasound Scans.  The best time for a 3D/4D scan is around 29-30 weeks.  The baby has more wiggle room during that time period which is essential considering the baby is in total control of the scan.  Should he or she decide not to look at the camera, we can bring you back in 7-10 days for a redo free of charge. We want you to have the best experience possible and get great pictures.  PRC Ultrasound continues to do what is best for you and your precious baby.  Thanks so much for the continued support. I finally had time to download some new baby pictures from the hard drive of my ultrasound machine. These recent babies have been very ultrasound friendly– so eager to smile, frown, and pout. It is so much fun watching the babies because they have different personalities and do things that are unique. I will try to post new baby faces as often as possible. 3D/4D Ultrasound 101

If you are expecting and too excited to wait for delivery to see what your baby looks like, 3D/4D ultrasound may be right for you.  Here are a few tips to help capture the best images possible.

• Be sure to schedule your appointment at the right time.  If your goal is gender determination, 17-weeks and beyond is optimal.  Any earlier than 17-weeks, your results may not be correct.  To get the best 3D pictures of your baby, schedule your appointment during weeks 24-32.  After 32 weeks, there is less fluid around the baby, which can lead to less than perfect pictures. If you would like a close-up picture of your baby’s face, 28-32 weeks best.
• Want to see your baby move in 4D? Schedule your appointment when you think your baby is most likely to be awake and active.
• Drink plenty of water 1-2 weeks before your appointment. This helps clear up the amniotic fluid and ensures that there is enough fluid around the baby.
• Be comfortable. You do not need to have a full bladder as you would with your medical ultrasound. Having a full bladder does not help much with 3D ultrasounds.
• If your baby is sleeping during your ultrasound appointment, try drinking orange juice or eating chocolate.  Walking around also helps.
